I am writing to say what a wonderful time we had at Les Rocans during the week of 3th-10th August. It suited all our needs and we were amazed by the tranquility and beauty of the surroundings.
Nous avons adoré votre maison, c'est clairement votre fierté et votre joie. Alors merci de la partager avec nous. Il semble que nous ayons eu une semaine très chaude, donc la piscine était l'endroit idéal, et nous n'avons pas fait les visites de ce que nous pensions pouvoir faire!
La Charmante Distillerie est un merveilleux lieu de vacances. Située au cœur de la campagne française, à 10 minutes d'une jolie ville animée. Mark et Gary sont des hôtes parfaits, discrets et toujours disponibles pour nous conseiller sur les sites touristiques et les restaurants locaux ou nous aider. L'intérieur est élégant, les œuvres d'art magnifiques, le mobilier très confortable et les chambres parfaites. Six adultes et trois enfants ont occupé la propriété pendant une semaine. Les hôtes ont répondu à tous nos besoins, allant même jusqu'à acheter de nouveaux jouets pour notre petit-fils de 9 mois. À aucun moment, La Distillerie ne nous a semblé bondée. La piscine était chauffée et mes trois petits-enfants nageaient et jouaient sans cesse dans l'aire de jeux dédiée. Ma famille et moi recommandons sans hésiter La Charmante Distillerie.
Fabulous! Amazing! Wonderful! We had a wonderful week! The view from the terrace only enhanced the local wines! We will be waiting to see your next project finished - it will deserve another visit.
La Loire! Quel patrimoine impressionnant. Châteaux, abbayes, grottes - et la maison Michel est à portée de tous ces sites. Bourgueil est une ville charmante avec des plats délicieux et des vins exceptionnels. Chaque soir, nous avons apprécié la piscine. Merci Michel pour cette semaine exceptionnelle.
Absolument magique, merci à Thomas pour son accompagnement et bienveillance qui a su satisfaire tous nos invités... Souvenir inoubliable... Splendide lieu.
Heaven on Earth. Our two week stay at Villa Chiavari was an absolute dream; I could not be more enthusiastic in recommending this home to anyone looking to spend their vacation in a veritable paradise. We were 2 couples, 3 children and 1 grandparent and booked an 'off-season' holiday at the end of September. Not long after our arrival we realised a major perk of booking 'off season': uncrowded beaches with absolutely perfect summer weather! Villa Chiavari's spectacular ocean-view infinity pool is surrounded by lounge-chairs and palm trees and bordered by a lush garden... good luck ever tearing yourself away. I should also mention that this lavish pool area is accessible by both the main living quarters of the house and by the bedrooms, which we found extremely convenient for our kids and elderly grandparent. Pool amenities also include a shaded lounge and dining area (also with an ocean view), a barbecue, outdoor refrigerator, pool toys and floats and easy access to a downstairs kitchenette. The grounds at the front of the house include a lush garden, an elevated hammock-hideaway in a quiet shady corner and an outdoor eating area punctuated by a lovely little fountain. The bedrooms are attractively furnished, comfortable and very clean. Five out of six have full attached bathrooms. All bedrooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and air conditioning, as is the main area of the house. The upstairs living/dining/den areas are elegant yet cozy at the same time and the entire back 'wall' of this floor is composed of large sliding glass doors that open onto a beautiful terrace running the length of the entire villa. There is a dining area and lounge on this upper terrace as well! The kitchen has every piece of equipment you can think of and if you're looking for the ultimate in extravagance, the owners will set you up with your own chef. They arranged for us a very personable French cook who prepared truly delicious, fresh meals that even our children were not afraid to eat. Sublime. Speaking of kids, families will find this home very child-safe. There are gates on stairways, the entire property is fenced-in (artfully disguised by beautiful flowers and foliage) and there is a smattering of children's furniture (highchair etc) available for use. We were also really comforted by the fact that the owners of this home are easily reached and are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be booking again and I encourage anyone interested in perfection to do the same!
Nous avons passé un séjour agréable dans un villa très calme. Maison spacieuse et très bien équipée. Région magnifique dotée de sites grandioses. Merci pour l'excellent accueil que vous nous avez réservé.
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour chex Eva. Tout était parfait, nous avions quelques demandes qui ont étaient remplies avec grand soin et investissement. Hôte très réactive également ! Le lieu est très propre, au calme et l'environnement est magnifique ! Je recommande.
Absolutely beautiful - all of it! I ran in the grounds every morning before it was too hot! Loved the high ceilings and shutters. Beautiful rooms and space for everyone. Loved have the huge living room. Obviously the pool and beautiful surroundings. Fully equipped kitchen and playroom for the kids and adults! Kitchen was brilliant . Loved the range and outdoor dining area next to the pond. Easy to cook for all needs. The owners have been the best hosts (from a distance). Kind and full of knowledge and tips. They have not elevated our holiday. Thank you fo much. I would not hesitate to return!
Quelle belle maison bien aménagée dans un endroit magnifique. Malgré un peu de pluie, nos invités et nous avons énormément apprécié notre séjour de deux semaines. Merci aux propriétaires qui ont été des hôtes parfaits - serviables, sympathiques et disponibles en cas de besoin, sans empiéter d'un pouce sur notre intimité. Nous n'aurions pas pu demander mieux, ni à Pure France ni au Domaine de Nérige. Vous avez conçu la maison de vacances parfaite et nous et nos invités aurions été heureux de pouvoir rester plus longtemps, beaucoup plus longtemps. Jusqu'à ce que nous nous réunissons à nouveau, meilleurs vœux. xx
Très tristes de partir après un séjour merveilleux au Château du Pic de Rigaud. L'emplacement est fantastique avec d'incroyables villages historiques à proximité. C'est de loin la propriété la plus propre dans laquelle nous ayons séjourné au cours des 20 dernières années de vacances en France - grâce à Henrietta et Peter. La piscine était également la meilleure que nous ayons utilisée - la seule recommandation serait des toilettes plus proches de la piscine ! Nous aimerions revenir un jour !
Very atmospheric, beautifully quiet, well equipped villa. Great pool and ideal for a large family stay. Nice market found 9 km to the left, at the bottom of the hill. Great local scenery, walks and bike rides and easy driving! Pool is fantastic and clean. Lower floor really cool when it gets hot! We've all had a great relaxing time!
Avons séjourné à plusieurs reprises dans cette superbe maison, tres bien aménagée, la piscine est top et la vue à couper le souffle. Ce petit village vaut le detour.
This villa was the perfect place for a two family holiday. The pool was very cool and refreshing after a hot day of sight-seeing / shopping! The whole two week trip was plenty relaxing and a lot of fun! This house is gorgeous. We will not forget this trip! P.S. a great pizza place down the road!
L'endroit est magnifique, bien au calme. La piscine ,l'immense terrain et les vélos électriques ont étés très appréciés par l'ensemble de la famille. Des vacances idéalement dépaysantes et revigorantes.
We came here to celebrate a couple of family birthdays and get some time together. From the moment we walked in the door we quickly came to realise what an amazing place this is. The view from the kitchen window (bu the sink) literally brought my sister to tears. ... in a very positive way. This week has allowed us to explore the area to some degree, but with so much on offer around and in the property, there was little incentive to go anywhere. The difficulty now will be to keep this gem of a property a secret from others, as we will undoubtedly tell everyone about this fantastic place. Thank you for so generously sharing your house. We, two couples, stayed the last week of June and the first week of July in Les Oliviers du Sud. We found modern comfort in an authentic environment in the well-equipped holiday homes Maison Carrée and Joie de Vivre. You can rightly say that you enjoy life here. Privacy, beauty, friendliness, a lovely swimming pool, the beautifully maintained gardens... it all comes to you here. And what we also appreciated very much: we arrived in a house where the basic necessities were present (such as coffee, tea, herbs and olive oil) and a nice bottle of wine and delicious (home-made!) cake were ready for us, which made us feel really welcome. Moreover, the area is also very attractive. From the tranquility of the domaine you drive to the liveliness and versatility of Avignon and Villeneuve and for example to Orange. The markets are very charming in the smaller towns nearby and there is also no shortage of nice restaurants. We really had a wonderful time, certainly also because of the friendliness of the owners.
Notre deuxième séjour au Cottage est tout aussi agréable. La piscine est un vrai bonheur. Il a fait très chaud. Nous avons gardé les volets fermés pour conserver la fraîcheur de la maison, et cela a fonctionné. Nous avons également constaté une nette absence de moustiques cette année. Cette région regorge de choses à faire et nous avons passé deux semaines riches en aventures extraordinaires. Grâce à d'anciens visiteurs, nous avons découvert Fanlac, un très beau village non loin d'ici. Plazac aussi, avec son jardin médicinal. Le dernier jour, nous avons découvert Coly-Saint-Amand, un charmant petit village avec une église fortifiée absolument magnifique. Dans ce village, il y a un adorable café végétarien, le « Café Rapiette », où la cuisine est délicieuse et faite maison. Pour nos excursions, nous avons une fois de plus été conquis par les magnifiques jardins d'Eyrignac. Si vous aimez les jardins, c'est l'un des plus beaux au monde. On peut en dire autant des jardins de Marqueyssac, qui valent vraiment le détour. Cette fois-ci, nous avons visité Beynac. Le château est notre coup de cœur. Les vues sont absolument incroyables et on peut même apercevoir la chambre de Richard Cœur de Lion. C'est vraiment impressionnant ! Dans le village, se trouve un superbe restaurant, « La Petite Tonnelle », qui propose une carte végétarienne raffinée, en plus des plats classiques comme le canard et le foie gras Aux alentours des châteaux, rien n'égale le Château de Losse, dans le village. Il est absolument époustouflant. Notre deuxième visite fut tout aussi mémorable que la première. Quel emplacement exceptionnel ! Lors de ce voyage, nous avons également visité La Roque-Saint-Christophe et le Château de Hautefort. Ces deux châteaux méritent vraiment qu'on y retourne, car ils sont fascinants et on y apprend toujours quelque chose de nouveau. Notre découverte la plus intéressante et remarquable fut « Les Cabanes du Breuil ». Ne les manquez surtout pas ! Vous serez émerveillés ! Côté restauration, nous avons très bien mangé presque partout. Sans hésiter, le Relais de Montignac, sur le Forum, est la meilleure adresse. La présentation des plats est digne d'un grand chef, mais le prix d'un menu à trois plats est inférieur à celui d'un plat principal au Royaume-Uni. C'est excellent. Côté marchés, celui de Montignac le mercredi est très sympa. Celui de Terrasson est bien aussi, certes plus grand, mais après, vous pouvez aller aux Jardins de l'Imagination, qui sont fabuleux. La ville est charmante. N'oubliez pas de flâner dans les vieux quartiers. Profitez du gîte, de l'amour, de la ville, de la région. Tout est merveilleux.

Many thanks for a wonderful week, we have so enjoyed this lovely house and the beautiful area around it, we wish we had more than a week to see more of what we wanted, we enjoyed the circular walk through the mixed pine forest, it’s very pretty and only 2 km long. We loved l Auberge du petit bistro in Vinsobres (a 2/3 minute drive), this was our favourite eating experience, while Vaison la Romain was lovely to visit. Many thanks for bringing us to all these wonderful experiences.
We had great week staying at this lovely house! It is in quiet, rural location and we enjoyed exploring the area, which is very pretty. Sam was a great host and showed us everything and then left us to it – but was very helpful responsive with any questions we had. There were 7 of us and the house accommodated us all very easily. It is very well equipped and everything is in good condition and works well - lots of plates, glasses, large fridge freezer with ice maker, wine and beer fridges etc! The beds were comfortable and the house has two good bathrooms/shower rooms including a spa bath! There is a great choice of terraces and outside areas (covered and open) for sitting and dining, with lots of chairs, tables and sun loungers – which far exceeded expectations. The pool, surrounding terrace and gardens are really lovely and it is very quiet and private. The table tennis table was a bonus and we had a fun afternoon kayaking on the Dordogne, too! We would have loved a few more days there!
This is an ideal holiday home if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing time surrounded by beautiful countryside. There are no other houses nearby, yet you are only a 10 minute drive from the nearby Bastide of Monpazier and larger town of Villareal, where there are shops, restaurants, markets etc. The pool is a good size and well maintained and the house is very well equipped. We have been coming to France for over 10 years and this is the only property which has enticed us back for 2 years running.
A fantastic place to be, hosts are very friendly and helpful. The gîtes are beautiful decorated and the view is stunning. We had a great time and I would not hesitate to book this beautiful domaine for a holiday again. I wrote a comment in the guestbook to encourage other people to spend their vacation at L'Oliveraie.

Stunning château in rural France. In August this year we made our 3rd visit to Château Velouse with a group of friends and once again had a wonderful time. The first time we flew to Paris and hired a car but found it more economical to take a ferry - crossing to Dieppe last year and Calais in August. Easy drive on all occasions. Location is in a beautiful rural area steeped in history and close to the Loire with its majestic châteaux and extensive forests. Medieval Bourge, only a few miles away, is very well worth several visits – the acoustics in the cathedral are amazing. The surrounding area is reasonably flat and so an ideal centre for cycling on very quiet roads and off road tracks. The communal areas and bedrooms in the château are impressive and very classy. The pool area is an ideal centre for complete relaxation. Pool is clean and well maintained. The hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly - very attentive to our needs and not obtrusive. Well worth a visit.
Gordon family and Mullaly family Thank you for letting us stay in this lovely farmhouse. The best days of the holiday were spent here in the farmhouse by the pool. The teens loved the gym and the tennis court. Such a lovely location. Much local excitement when the Tour de France (femmes) passed the driveway. What a fabulous day! Enjoyed the wine tour and our 2 meals out in Richelieu. The view from the terrace is exceptional and such a good place to drink coffee and welcome the morning or indeed the evening. Great family team here to spend much for a great visit.
