We wanted to find a location that provided peace and tranquillity and allow us all to pause for a while. We sought comfort, privacy and nature and found it all and more at La Metairie de Mespoule. We have just spent two wonderful weeks in late July and early August under the life giving sun of South Western France. We explored the beautiful villages, we ate in a raft of superb restaurants and we came back each day to the enjoy the tranquillity offered by the Metairie. The accommodation is perfect for a family holiday, the kitchen / living area is perfectly appointed and the outside terrace much used by us all. The naturally heated pool is an inspired choice and proved to be very popular with us all as did the BBQ area, the table tennis and an evening game of pétanque on the gravelled driveway. Catherine and Jono are perfect hosts offering as much or as little support and guidance as required – we opted for a private wine tour which was fabulous. We give the strongest of recommendations for anyone looking for a perfectly relaxing holiday.
Nous séjournons dans des gîtes et des villas en France depuis de très nombreuses années et le Mas des Rivailles est l'une des meilleures adresses. Très propre, confortable avec tout en place pour passer de belles vacances reposantes. La piscine était super mais n'a pas été utilisée autant que nous l'aurions souhaité en raison du temps pendant les deux semaines que nous y avons passées. Le pack de bienvenue a été une surprise inattendue et très appréciée. Frédéric était serviable et informatif, tout comme nos sympathiques voisins (qui ne parlaient pas anglais), mais cela nous a donné l'occasion de pratiquer notre français limité. De jolis petits villages à visiter et de bons restaurants, Clément à Lauzun était un favori. Je recommande pleinement cette propriété.
I love the pool. This holiday has been the best! Le Glacier is a big restaurant. The food is lovely and you get presents in your ice cream. I want to come again!
We booked Château Velouse as we love the Loire region. Definitely not disappointed... the welcome from the hosts Claire and Phil was lovely, the rooms were huge in size and height, great ensuites, it can hold 16 adults plus 4 children. Loads of space in the extensive grounds which are walled and fenced, we felt very secure and great for children and our dog to explore. The large swimming pool was fantastic and spent a lot of time there lounging on luxury sun beds under the umbrellas (30C plus during our stay). We had some wonderful evening meals during our stay either outside patio area which seated us all with lovely lighting or inside in the huge dining room. As a group of family and friends we took turns to cook which was great fun and the kitchen is very well equipped to cater for a large group. We had trips out to Bourges, Sancerre and a day on a local golf course, all recommended

Awesome! Kids LOVED it. Beautiful grounds and so much space, also spotless clean. Very well equipped, even had sharp knives! Superb setting. Great BBQ. Help and good advice always available. Indian food was great! Lovely way to start the holiday after hours of driving! We have stayed at many holiday homes and this is right up there as one of, if not the best we have stayed at!

Elle a été conçue avec amour selon des normes haut de gamme et possède certainement le facteur « wow » à l'arrivée. Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful house - we have all enjoyed the beautiful home and gardens and all the attention to detail. We very much enjoyed the night market in Laparade although not really a market but more a fiesta! Very much recommend. A fantastic stay and wonderful house!
A fabulous 2 week holiday for the whole family, ages from 11 weeks to 70 years!! A superb house + grounds and a very special thanks to Lynda for her generosity + helping us on our last weekend.
Lors de notre premier séjour en Dordogne, nous avons trouvé la Sainte Trinité du voyage : une propriété parfaite, des hôtes exceptionnels et un emplacement exceptionnel. Les propriétaires ont magnifiquement rénové la propriété en alliant architecture traditionnelle de Dordogne et décoration intérieure contemporaine, préservant ainsi le caractère de la propriété tout en offrant le confort moderne. Le gîte bénéficie d'un emplacement rural isolé et d'un accès facile (5 minutes à pied) aux deux restaurants, à la boutique et au bar de l'hôtel de Thonac. De même, la route principale qui traverse Thonac vous mène à travers la pittoresque vallée de la Vézère, avec Montignac et notre ville préférée, Saint-Léon, à seulement quelques minutes en voiture. Les villes médiévales de Sarlat, Beynac et Domme sont un peu plus éloignées, mais restent faciles d'accès. Grottes pour le canoë, troglodytes pour la randonnée et une multitude de restaurants et de bars sont facilement accessibles depuis Thonac. Vous pouvez vraiment passer toutes sortes de vacances depuis cette propriété. C'est magnifique !
It’s hard to know where to begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. Your property is so well set up and we made good use of the barbecue, tennis court, boules, darts, table tennis and of course, the pool which beats all other swimming pools we’ve ever had on holiday... and the shady areas when the sun got just that bit too hot. So much thought has obviously gone into it all and it made our holiday very special. The four teenage grandchildren we had with us had a ball and we all loved the Lot countryside, its villages and the sunflowers. How can you not be happy when you’ve got fields of them within a few steps from your door? The two Marches Gourmands we went to at Tournon and Saux were brilliant fun - the food on offer at Saux was particularly good and Tournon is such a pretty place. Our daughter loved going for early morning runs, seeing a hare and on two occasions, a deer, amongst sunflowers. Swimming in the Lot, cycling and canoeing are all on our list of favourite things we did. We also have a great picture of three of the red squirrels on the tree near the bolet - what a brilliant place for breakfast. Thank you so very much from all of us. Super séjour dans une grande villa très confortable ! La piscine est très agréable. Le logement, bien équipé, est situé dans un village sympathique à bonne distance de Béziers et des stations balnéaires de la côte.
Merci Nick et Tessa pour ces deux semaines les plus fantastiques dans votre magnifique maison. Frédéric était formidable. Nous nous sommes bien reposés pour la première fois depuis longtemps. Vous avez mangé des plats délicieux, bu trop de vin et nagé toute la journée dans votre piscine. Nous espérons revenir un jour.
As you know we have stayed in your house twice. It really is an exceptional property and in terms of facilities, location and aesthetic qualities we could not fault it. The views are fantastic, the pool is perfect and the house itself brimming with character – not to mention that every lamp works, as do the showers and all utensils.
We truly had a fantastic holiday. I needed the rest and some time with my children and parents and Château Entre-Deux-Mers certainly afforded me that. Again thank you, your château is lovely and it provided my family with some great memories of a relaxing holiday in France.

A lovely family house beautifuly equipped Immaculate property, all the bedrooms are great with the addition of air con in the master bedroom, great kitchen, bathrooms and perfect showers! British TV to keep the kids entertained. The pool area is sheltered and a real sun trap! Our favourite time was BBQ in the evening on the first floor terrace with beautiful views . Very convenient for a stroll onto the pretty village with bars restaurants and lovely markets. Superb unspoilt beaches only 20 minutes away. Highly recommend going into Narbonne only half an hour away, you must visit the indoor food market.
Ça s'est très bien passé pour notre famille de 7 adultes, une petite fille et 2 petits chiens. De l'espace, c'est parfait avec beaucoup de coins pour se reposer, manger ou juste avoir un peu de paix. La clim était excellente avec la chaleur de cette semaine. La télévision énorme pour les finales de Wimbledon et les propriétaires bien accueillants. Merci beaucoup pour tout. À la prochaine!!!
Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux au Cottage du Jardin, dans le magnifique Périgord Noir. C'était le point de chute idéal pour explorer cette superbe région de France. Durant notre séjour, nous avons eu le plaisir de visiter les charmants villages et villes des environs, notamment Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, Montignac, Les Eyzies-de-Tayac, Domme, ainsi que les magnifiques villages de Fanlac et Saint-Géniès. Parmi les points forts : la fascinante grotte de Lascaux IV, les paisibles jardins du Manoir d'Eyrignac, l'impressionnant Château de Beynac et les vues imprenables sur la Dordogne depuis Domme, Beynac et La Roque-Gageac. Nous avons également fait de belles promenades dans les environs, admirant les paysages du village, la Vézère et même flâné jusqu'au Château de Losse. Nos vacances ont été extrêmement reposantes, exactement ce dont nous avions besoin. Merci Caterina et Steve pour ce séjour délicieux dans un si beau cottage et pour votre accueil chaleureux et votre gentillesse. Nous reviendrons !
Notre hôte nous a accueillis à notre arrivée et nous a non seulement fait visiter l'appartement mais également l'ensemble du bâtiment et ses environs. L'appartement était impeccable, beau design moderne avec toutes les commodités et si proche de la plage. Plus important encore pour nous, il peut accueillir un jeune bébé avec une chaise haute, un lit bébé, une baignoire pour bébé et même des jouets de bain. Enfin l'emplacement est idéal si vous souhaitez découvrir la Côte d'Azur. Nous avons fait des excursions d'une journée dans notre voiture de location tant à l'Est que vers l'Ouest depuis cet appartement, notamment Eze, Cannes, Antibes, Nice, St Paul de Vence, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Menton, Monte Carlo et Cap Ferrat. Merci de nous offrir des vacances parfaites.
