Converted farmhouse near Gordes. Beautiful property both inside and out, lounging by the pool listening to the birds and looking at the treetops gently swaying in the breeze is a little slice of heaven.
A great house, a fantastic location and a warm welcome - the basis of a wonderful family holiday.
Somewhere special. From the moment we arrived at Le Manoir des Fouilloux we knew it was somewhere special. The attention to detail in every little corner of the beautiful and spacious house and grounds are the result of great vision and an enormous labour of love by its delightful owners Ian and Hugh. Le Manoir exudes a classic, elegant style, with some fun and quirky touches and is luxurious throughout, whilst also allowing you to feel truly relaxed and pampered. You are really spoilt for choice with so many quiet corners to sit, read, relax, snooze, chat and drink rosé as well as several areas to enjoy sunny or shady breakfasts, long lunches and suppers. With a 10 and 13 year old in tow and temperatures of up to 37 degrees, we spent a large part of our time around the stunning pool Hugh and Ian have created. Not wanting to be too lazy though, there are plenty of things to do very close by – kayaking, tree top climbing and river swimming can all be done from St Aulaye and Aubeterre is also well worth a visit. Ian and Hugh are the most thoughtful and considerate hosts and should be rightly proud of the tranquil haven they have created. This was quite possibly the best family holiday we have had and we hope to return one day to enjoy it all over again! Thank you all.
After driving through France, it was lovely to arrive at your beautiful house. The weather has been perfect and we have chilled by the swimming pool. We have visited many of the surrounding villages and gazed at the breathtaking views from the top of the mountains. We really don't want to begin our journey back and will certainly recommend to others. Thank you.
Nous avons adoré Cottage du Jardin dès la première photo que nous avons vue en ligne. Nous avons reçu un accueil des plus chaleureux de la part de Caterina et Stephen. Le cottage a dépassé toutes nos attentes. Pour ceux qui recherchent le calme et la tranquillité absolue, c'est l'endroit idéal. De plus, la région offre une multitude de sites magnifiques à visiter, accessibles en voiture. Vous avez également le luxe de disposer de votre propre piscine, entourée d'un magnifique jardin parfumé. Caterina et Stephen se mettent en quatre pour vous accueillir et connaissent parfaitement la région, sans être envahissants. Des hôtes parfaits. J'espère que ce petit cottage continuera à enchanter ceux qui auront la chance de le découvrir.
Our week in your beautiful home has gone far too quickly. We have really enjoyed the era and explored Uzes and its restaurants. There is still so much to do and we hope to be back. Many thanks for your welcome and discreet hospitality. The tortoises were a great distraction!

Beautiful setting and the grounds are marvellous. So relaxing and the pool area is perfect for long sunny afternoons. Kitchen is really well appointed. Bed linen feels fresh and your home is spotless - a big thumbs up! Playroom was a huge hit. You have a wonderful property, but your kindness and generosity of spirit went a long way in making us all feel very welcome.

Un cadre parfait où se détendre et passer notre semaine de vacances. Nous avons apprécié la maison spacieuse, le jardin et la piscine ainsi que le merveilleux temps chaud ! Les villages pittoresques à proximité ont vraiment été une expérience spectaculaire. Nous avons passé une très belle semaine à la villa. Nous aurions aimé rester plus longtemps mais nos vacances sont maintenant terminées et nous repartons dans le Nord.
It’s hard to know where to begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. Your property is so well set up and we made good use of the barbecue, tennis court, boules, darts, table tennis and of course, the pool which beats all other swimming pools we’ve ever had on holiday... and the shady areas when the sun got just that bit too hot. So much thought has obviously gone into it all and it made our holiday very special. The four teenage grandchildren we had with us had a ball and we all loved the Lot countryside, its villages and the sunflowers. How can you not be happy when you’ve got fields of them within a few steps from your door? The two Marches Gourmands we went to at Tournon and Saux were brilliant fun - the food on offer at Saux was particularly good and Tournon is such a pretty place. Our daughter loved going for early morning runs, seeing a hare and on two occasions, a deer, amongst sunflowers. Swimming in the Lot, cycling and canoeing are all on our list of favourite things we did. We also have a great picture of three of the red squirrels on the tree near the bolet - what a brilliant place for breakfast. Thank you so very much from all of us. Si vous cherchez un bel endroit où séjourner en Provence, nous vous recommandons vivement ce domaine (La Bastide 1718) pendant 8 jours pour accueillir 35 personnes pour notre mariage. Nous avions prévu des activités tout au long de la semaine: de la randonnée, du yoga, visite du jardin des papillons sans oublier la visite d'une cave. Notre groupe a adoré ! Nous avons organisé la réception de bienvenue, la cérémonie de mariage, le déjeuner le dîner de mariage et le post brunch à divers endroits de la Bastide. C'était tellemnt magique que nous nous sommes cru dans un rêve. La propriété a encore quelques choses à revoir pour la planification d'événements et les longs séjours mais Thomas était accueillant et une fois sur place tout était parfait. Le vin est également délicieux. Nous adorons leur rosé à 10 Euros et en avons bu des caisses pendant notre séjour. Leurs vins blancs sont également très très bons. Leur vin est délicieux et difficile à trouver aux États-Unis ! Dans l'ensemble, je recommande vivement de séjourner ici. Cela vous videra l'esprit car vous êtes entouré par la nature, la faune et les vignobles qui s'étend à l'infini. Nous avons apprécié la randonnée juste à côté de la propriété tous les matins. Pour une escapade en ville, vous êtes à 45 minutes de la côte, à 40 minutes du vieux Hyères, qui est notre ville provençale préférée, et à 10 minutes d'un restaurant étoilé Michelin à La Celle. Nous recommandons chaudement. Leur huile d'olive est aussi délicieuse !
Merci beaucoup de nous avoir permis de séjourner à la maison. Nous avons passé 2 semaines fantastiques et la maison a très bien fonctionné pour nous tous avec autant d'espace et tout ce dont nous avions besoin pour passer de merveilleuses vacances. C'est un endroit magnifique et nous avons tous réussi à nous occuper entre la natation, la marche, le vélo, l'équitation, les vignobles et en particulier les marchés du soir. Nous avons vraiment passé de merveilleuses vacances.
Une vue imprenable, une belle maison et un soleil radieux... Qu'espérer de plus de la vie? Ah, la cuisine et le vin français!
Quel merveilleux séjour nous avons passé à Camirout ! On ne ressent vraiment l'atmosphère d'un lieu qu'une fois sur place, et Camirout possède un charme unique. Le soin et l'amour apportés au jardin sont remarquables : c'était un vrai plaisir d'être entourés de toute cette verdure ! Nous avons profité de belles promenades, exploré des châteaux et, bien sûr, nous nous sommes éclatés dans la piscine. Merci Madeline et Alan, nous nous sommes régalés et nous garderons ces beaux souvenirs pour toujours !
Here we are again! The Loft and it’s setting never loses its WOW! factor; we have had yet another ( fifth ) visit, having enjoyed the garden, pool, local area and not least your wonderful hospitality. Thank you so much - an oasis of calm in the Covid-19 storm! The measures you have taken to protect guests have been executed with your usual discretion and thoroughness, allowing us to truly relax.
Absolutely gorgeous house. Périgueux and Saint-Émilion were both charming - wonderful food, too. Weather has been idyllic and the swimming pool and loungers were a perfect way to relax. We will greatly miss this house and take with us very happy memories of our holiday here.
You could not wish for more in a holiday accommodation. Everything about this place is perfect – the warm welcome by the hosts, the beautifully designed and furnished gite, the very special location and brilliant views over vineyards, forest and softly rolling hills, the helpful recommendations from Esther and Leonard. We only have one regret – and that is that we didn’t stay long enough.
Je ne peux trouver aucun défaut à Montlaur. Nous voulions des vacances où nous pourrions découvrir l'authentique - la vraie vie de village de campagne française - et nous l'avons fait. Et dans un cadre luxueux en prime ! C'était parfait.
Nous avons vraiment adoré notre séjour au Château Des Grillauds. C'était le summum de nos vacances en Europe cet été. Cette propriété est pleine de caractère, bien équipée et confortable avec beaucoup de chambres et d'espace. Nous avons adoré l'emplacement avec de très bons marchés locaux presque tous les jours et il se trouve à moins d'une heure de Bordeaux et de vignobles remarquables tout en étant très central dans la Dordogne. Nos enfants ont adoré la piscine chauffée et maintenue à 30°C. Nous recommandons cette propriété à tout le monde. Merci beaucoup.
Perfect! Our stay in the L’Ancienne Etable was 5 star. Jane and Richard have thought of everything to make this the perfect pad for two. Peaceful and relaxing, we would highly recommend and hope to return again soon.

Absolutely fabulous! We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 weeks and would love to return. It's so well equipped, you've thought of everything UK TV meant we could stay in touch with local news not mention avidly watching the olympics. The property couldn't be bettered!
Stunning retreat Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our time in your gorgeous home. We all spent hours in the pool and visited the neighbouring vineyard for some delicious rose, Corinne's daughter Chloe served up some fantastic food and Isabelle looked after the kids while we escaped two nights. It really is a stunning retreat.
We have had a very enjoyable fortnight in your beautiful house and gardens, despite the unfriendly weather. We go home feeling very relaxed. We enjoyed days out in Chinon, Fontevraud and several of the other places mentioned by others. Thank you for your hospitality, the wine, jam and bubbles. Hope you enjoyed Italy.
Nous avons passé un superbe séjour au château la semaine dernière! Le château était incroyable. Olha nous a fait visiter le château, elle était super serviable et nous a laissé notre espace. Les installations étaient toutes fantastiques… la piscine était magnifique, bien sûr, et la salle de sport était équipée pour que chacun puisse s'y entraîner. Le court de tennis était utilisé tous les jours et ceux qui l'ont utilisé (pas moi, je buvais du rosé au bord de la piscine et je lançais une balle que de temps en temps !) l'ont adoré. Les chambres étaient vraiment spacieuses et bien équipées, ce qui ne se voit peut-être pas sur les photos, mais ce n'est pas vraiment un reproche, juste une agréable surprise. Une autre bonne surprise a été la qualité de l'équipement de la cuisine. Il y a littéralement TOUT. Il y a une supérette et une boulangerie à moins d'un kilomètre, mais malheureusement, ce n'était pas vraiment accessible à pied pour les adolescents du groupe, car les véhicules rapides et il n'y a pas de sentiers. Mais ce n'était pas vraiment un point négatif quand on a tant d'autres choses pour les divertir. Nous étions quatre familles en vacances et nous sommes tous un peu grincheux chacun de notre côté, maintenant que nous sommes chacun de retour à la maison !

Relaxing, quiet, perfect for families or a group of friends. Beautiful views, light airy rooms, all rooms with ensuite shower room (1 with bath), outside area to eat and pool to cool down. The lady who looks after the villa was very helpful and friendly.
