Beautiful villa in a stunning location. Inside there are large spacious rooms, which are all furnished to a high standard. The property was lovely and clean and well maintained. My husband and I stayed with my daughter and boyfriend, we had the lovely bedroom on the first floor which had a verandah with the most stunning view. I found it difficult to drag myself away from here each morning whilst enjoying my breakfast overlooking the village and church. My daughter had the double on the ground floor which was just as lovely with double doors opening out onto patio area. The villa was large enough for us all to have our own space and privacy. Outside the pool area was stunning, more glorious views. Plenty of sun beds for everyone, a very well equipped area and great pool! I also found it difficult to drag myself away from here, but glad I did as the area is so beautiful. A must is the Gorge du Verdon, the many hill top villages and a visit to the fabulous beaches. After a days sightseeing it was great to come back for a swim before going out to dinner. We did'nt travel far in the evenings as we really enjoyed the hotel in the village. The food was excellent, well presented and good service. Italian was also good. We also enjoyed shopping locally for produce, cooking for ourselves and then relaxing in the garden, followed by a game of boules, what could be better especially after a few glasses of wine! I would recommend a stay here and am looking forward to our return.
C'est l'avis le plus facile et satisfaisant que nous ayons jamais écrit. Mark et Gary sont tout simplement deux des personnes les plus chaleureuses et attentionnées que nous ayons jamais rencontrées. Ils ont créé la plus belle maison dans un cadre rural idéal, si belle qu'elle semble presque trop belle pour être vraie… mais elle est bien réelle. À La Charmante Distillerie, tout invite à la détente et à la relaxation… que ce soit les espaces intérieurs somptueux et luxueux, la piscine et les terrasses attenantes offrant ombre et intimité, ou encore la forêt environnante et le bruissement des feuilles des arbres sous la douce brise rafraîchissante. Les matins et les soirs étaient nos moments préférés : nous nous asseyions et écoutions le silence en savourant un expresso ou un Pineau frais. C'était vraiment idyllique. Nos filles, âgées de 12 et 14 ans, étaient ravies de jouer dans la piscine pendant des heures ou de se détendre sur les terrasses et dans leur petit coin intime, magnifiquement aménagé. Nous aimerions garder La Charmante Distillerie comme notre petit secret et ne la partager avec personne, mais bien sûr, ce n'est pas possible. C'est donc à notre grand regret que nous devons dire à tous ceux qui nous le demandent que nous avons trouvé la destination idéale avec des hôtes parfaits. C'est magnifique.

We came here to celebrate a couple of family birthdays and get some time together. From the moment we walked in the door we quickly came to realise what an amazing place this is. The view from the kitchen window (bu the sink) literally brought my sister to tears. ... in a very positive way. This week has allowed us to explore the area to some degree, but with so much on offer around and in the property, there was little incentive to go anywhere. The difficulty now will be to keep this gem of a property a secret from others, as we will undoubtedly tell everyone about this fantastic place. Thank you for so generously sharing your house. La villa est fantastique avec tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin et il a été si facile de s'y détendre et de profiter de nos vacances. Merci d'être un hôte aussi fantastique, Cédric. Heaven on Earth. Our two week stay at Villa Chiavari was an absolute dream; I could not be more enthusiastic in recommending this home to anyone looking to spend their vacation in a veritable paradise. We were 2 couples, 3 children and 1 grandparent and booked an 'off-season' holiday at the end of September. Not long after our arrival we realised a major perk of booking 'off season': uncrowded beaches with absolutely perfect summer weather! Villa Chiavari's spectacular ocean-view infinity pool is surrounded by lounge-chairs and palm trees and bordered by a lush garden... good luck ever tearing yourself away. I should also mention that this lavish pool area is accessible by both the main living quarters of the house and by the bedrooms, which we found extremely convenient for our kids and elderly grandparent. Pool amenities also include a shaded lounge and dining area (also with an ocean view), a barbecue, outdoor refrigerator, pool toys and floats and easy access to a downstairs kitchenette. The grounds at the front of the house include a lush garden, an elevated hammock-hideaway in a quiet shady corner and an outdoor eating area punctuated by a lovely little fountain. The bedrooms are attractively furnished, comfortable and very clean. Five out of six have full attached bathrooms. All bedrooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and air conditioning, as is the main area of the house. The upstairs living/dining/den areas are elegant yet cozy at the same time and the entire back 'wall' of this floor is composed of large sliding glass doors that open onto a beautiful terrace running the length of the entire villa. There is a dining area and lounge on this upper terrace as well! The kitchen has every piece of equipment you can think of and if you're looking for the ultimate in extravagance, the owners will set you up with your own chef. They arranged for us a very personable French cook who prepared truly delicious, fresh meals that even our children were not afraid to eat. Sublime. Speaking of kids, families will find this home very child-safe. There are gates on stairways, the entire property is fenced-in (artfully disguised by beautiful flowers and foliage) and there is a smattering of children's furniture (highchair etc) available for use. We were also really comforted by the fact that the owners of this home are easily reached and are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be booking again and I encourage anyone interested in perfection to do the same!
Without a doubt, this is the most peaceful and relaxing holiday we have ever had. Such a beautiful setting with everything we needed - even to keep our 3 boys entertained. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise.

We have enjoyed a tremendous week. The weather was fantastic and we made the most of the outdoor living. A few highlights for us: A fantastic meal at L’Effet Maison in Monflanquin. Great service and they were superb with the boys. Château Bonaguil (never found) was a big hit with the boys. It is a large castle and they loved running around and pretending to be knights. Much (much!) further afield, but we enjoyed Angoulême on the drive down from Calais – lots of amazing murals and graffiti. We hope to return to this great house!
A beautifully decorated house in a quiet location close to the town. We loved embracing life in Narbonne shopping in the nearby boulangerie and food market. We also recommend hiring one of the small boats on the Canal Robine. We hope to book your home again some day.
La maison de Sam correspondait à ce que nous recherchions pour une famille avec des enfants de 12 et 10 ans. La proximité de la vallée du Lot et de la Dordogne signifiait qu'il y avait de nombreuses options de sorties et d'installations à explorer et à apprécier pour les adultes et les enfants. Les marchés nocturnes locaux ont également été un point fort de notre séjour. La propriété était très bien équipée avec des jeux d'intérieur et du matériel pour profiter des espaces extérieurs. C'est extrêmement calme et paisible avec peu de voitures qui passent, ce qui en fait un environnement très relaxant et reposant pour le temps passé dans la propriété. Nous sommes partis en nous sentant très bien reposés.
Nous nous sentons tous très privilégiés d'avoir séjourné dans une maison aussi magnifique. Dès le début, nous nous sommes sentis les bienvenus dans cette vraie maison, pas une simple location de vacances. L'endroit est vraiment magnifique et apaisant pour recharger ses batteries et visiter une région fantastique. Gastronomie et vin ont été appréciés de tous.

We’ve had a wonderful time thank you. Yes, it did get pretty hot last week, but coming from England we shouldn’t moan..! It’s such a stunning location and the house is very comfortable and cool in the heat. We really don’t want to go home but I’m afraid we have to… Maybe we can come again next summer?
Nous voulions juste vous remercier pour ce beau séjour au château Périgord. Tout était superbe… une propriété remarquable joliment sise dans la magnifique campagne. Nous y avons passé un merveilleux séjour!
Je pense pouvoir parler au nom de nous 11 en disant que nous avons encore une fois passé de merveilleuses vacances à La Barde. Je n'étais jamais parti aussi tôt l'année précédente (en mai), mais nous avons utilisé la piscine tous les jours. L'avantage de venir un peu plus tôt cette année était de voir votre jardin dans toute sa splendeur et la Dordogne avant d'être "blanchi" par le soleil - et nous avons vraiment apprécié de pouvoir brûler des bûches sur l'immense feu ouvert de la cuisine tous les soirs (il fait normalement trop chaud pour ça!). Tout était parfait, Hélène, comme d'habitude (et les lits encore plus confortables que la dernière fois) ! J'apprécie toujours le mélange de ferme authentique et de design chic et élégant de La Barde. Et c'était toujours aussi paisible et relaxant : les batteries sont rechargées !
C'est la deuxième fois que nous venons chez David et Kirstie pour un long week-end entre amis. Tout est toujours parfait. Un hébergement excellent, des hôtes au top et un environnement exceptionnel ! Nous avons adoré notre séjour et nous le recommandons sans hésiter ! Nous reviendrons, c'est sûr.
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour chex Eva. Tout était parfait, nous avions quelques demandes qui ont étaient remplies avec grand soin et investissement. Hôte très réactive également ! Le lieu est très propre, au calme et l'environnement est magnifique ! Je recommande.
We loved the views, peace and quiet and the house and garden, all of it! The house is well equipped and very clean. The pool was a real treat and was kept clean throughout our stay. We look forward to returning again.

Magnifique villa, belle piscine et emplacement parfait ! Nous venons de passer une merveilleuse semaine aux Fumerates. Nous avons reçu un accueil chaleureux de la part de Michael et Denise et l'attention portée aux détails dans la propriété était irréprochable avec du savon, des gels douche, des dosettes de café et bien plus encore, l'ensemble encore amélioré par des lits confortables, la climatisation et une présentation impeccable. Nous avons adoré le caractère de la propriété et son superbe aménagement. La fantastique piscine à débordement a été le cadre de beaux souvenirs passés assis sur la terrasse pour un repas ou un verre, puis à plonger dans l'eau magnifique et à admirer la vue imprenable. Nous nous sommes également amusés sur le toboggan et le plongeoir et nous sommes détendus en flottant sur les transats confortables de la piscine. Les Fumerates sont idéalement placés pour visiter des endroits comme Nice, prendre le bus au bout de la route fonctionnait parfaitement et n'étaient qu'à 15 minutes en voiture de l'aéroport ! Nous avons également visité Monaco, Antibes, Saint-Tropez et Port Grimaud, mais l'un des points forts a été la courte promenade jusqu'au village magique de Saint-Paul-de-Vence pour y prendre un verre et un repas. Nous y avons passé l'une de nos meilleures vacances à ce jour et nous y reviendrons certainement !

Enjoyed a wonderful week with friends in this beautiful house surrounded by stunning scenery. Clare was welcoming and helpful and we couldn't have asked for more. Would thoroughly recommend and very much hope to return again.
Lovely villa, boys enjoyed the pool and the garden! Had great trips to Montpellier and Carcassonne. Visit Pézenas on a Wednesday evening and visit all of the artisans stores! For beaches the long stretch between Sète and Agde is very quiet.
Endroit somptueux, accueil chaleureux, tout est propice au calme et à la sérénité. Une campagne avec aucune habitation autour, bref la campagne comme je l'aime.
