I wanted to drop you a quick line to say thank you, we had a wonderful, relaxing week. The villa, garden and pool were all fabulous and we were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The villa has been finished to a very nice standard and we would definitely like to go back and we will be recommending it to our family and friends.
Nous avons passé un agréable séjour ici ! Très jolie villa, conviviale et élégante, avec une vue imprenable depuis la terrasse. Très bien située (à quelques pas des commerces et à quelques minutes en voiture) des villes/plages et lacs environnants.
Un mois très relaxant - nous avons visité de nombreux villages avec notre chien Ruby. Nous avons apprécié la piscine. Il y a trop à manger et à boire. Merci à Lisbeth.
Magnifique maison, encore plus belle que sur les photos. Très spacieuse, décorée avec beaucoup de goût (dommage que nous ne puissions pas acheter la déco). Nous y avons passé une semaine formidable aussi bien pour les parents que pour les enfants. Merci à Steve pour son sourire et sa bonne humeur. Nous reviendrons c’est certain!!!
Lovely spacious house. We loved staying here! The rooms were lovely and spacious and the bed was big and comfortable :-) The location was really good to. We enjoyed going down to the riverside cafe, kayaking on the river, cycling, sightseeing, eating! We would definitely come back.
This is my second visit to the beautiful ‘Rusty Shears gite’ hosted by Kirstie and Russell. From the outset our stay was just perfect. We were made very welcome and even had welcome drinks upon arrival. This was a special visit for my mums birthday and Kirstie even baked a cake, which was absolutely delicious. The gite is immaculately presented and the interior is simply gorgeous, with sumptuous cushions, uniquely bespoke painted furniture and house plants that compliment the gite’s luxurious eclectic style. The outside space is perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine and listening to the nature that surrounds the outside space. They have thought of everything; an outside eating area, complete with overhead sails to stay in the shade, corner sofa area complete with parasol to stay in or out of the shade, a bbq area with small outside prep area, hot tub and even 4 sun loungers. The location is set in the countryside so expect to drive or cycle to the local vineyards and restaurants but rest assured Kirstie and Russell can recommend plenty of places of interest and even arrange cycle hire or restaurant bookings if preferred. All in all a really tranquil long weekend away that offered us plenty of tasty local food, vineyard visits, rest and relaxation in the sunshine. If you’re an animal lover then you’ll also appreciate Kirstie’s love of animals too and if you’re lucky you’ll get to taste a freshly laid egg from ’Cluckingham palace!’ A truly wonderful space and warm welcome that will encourage you to return. A gem of a holiday find - we will definitely be going back soon! Thank you Kirstie and Russell for your hospitality during our stay at Rusty Shears gite and for making great memories!
Nous avons passé un séjour fabuleux au Cottage du Jardin. Le cottage nous convenait parfaitement. Il avait tout ce dont nous avions besoin. Magnifiquement décoré, aménagé et meublé. La piscine était à tomber (je n'en sortais presque jamais). Merci à Stephen pour l'avoir entretenue avec tant de soin, ainsi que le jardin. Le cottage est idéalement situé, hors des sentiers battus et très calme, tout en étant suffisamment proche de Thonac pour aller boire un verre ou manger au village. Montignac, une ville animée regorgeant de cafés, de bars et de boutiques, n'est qu'à dix minutes en voiture. De belles excursions sont possibles dans les villages voisins, qui se vantent tous d'être parmi les plus beaux de France. Et ils le sont tous ! Le petit plus : être à Thonac pour la finale de la Coupe du monde. Rob est allé au village et a rejoint les habitants qui regardaient la finale sur grand écran.
What would you tell your friends about your holiday ? It was a very pleasant stay. A very quiet house, very well equipped, with a much-appreciated pool. Beautiful scenery. What was the best thing about your stay ? The pool. The view over the landscape. The outdoor space. The air conditioning. What could we do better for your next stay? A pitcher/carafe (but perhaps we just didn’t find it). Were there any appliances you really wished you had? It was more than perfect. How was the comfort of your rooms, pillows, and beds? Impeccable. Do you have any comments on the garden, pool, plancha, etc.? Wonderful. Missing: the table game, and a tree under whose shade one could have lunch. How do you rate the information provided in this booklet? Perfect and complete. Is there anything important missing? One of our friends suggested an electric bike. Another thought that suggestion was excessive. How could we improve it? I note that the useful information, sometimes highlighted, already seems extremely well presented — also topographic details, routes, activities, plans for next year. Do you have any other comments to help us serve you better when you return next year? Looking forward to future visits. Final remark: We thank you for this very good stay in this very beautiful and interesting house, whose collection of books caught our attention.
Ça s'est très bien passé pour notre famille de 7 adultes, une petite fille et 2 petits chiens. De l'espace, c'est parfait avec beaucoup de coins pour se reposer, manger ou juste avoir un peu de paix. La clim était excellente avec la chaleur de cette semaine. La télévision énorme pour les finales de Wimbledon et les propriétaires bien accueillants. Merci beaucoup pour tout. À la prochaine!!!
Avec nos sincères remerciements pour cette semaine très relaxante dans votre charmante maison. Nous avons vraiment apprécié les belles vues et la campagne environnante : les couchers de soleil étaient incroyables. Le temps a été très clément avec nous avec des températures qui ont grimpé en flèche, les baignades dans la piscine étaient les bienvenues.
We have recently returned from our stay in Manoir Coutenson. The house was even better than we anticipated, truly wonderful! Beautiful private gardens, the covered terrace and swimming pool were perfect and we spent many evenings barbecuing and relaxing outdoors. The house itself is extremely comfortable and well equipped, we were so impressed with the kitchen contents, the owners had thought of everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. There is plenty to do in the local area, we hired boats, bicycles, went horse riding and wine tasting at a number of the local vineyards. Saint-Émilion was only an hour away, a memorable place to visit and a very easy drive. We would not hesitate to recommend this property as a holiday home, it's location, facilities and level of comfort were outstanding!
Thank you for a very memorable two weeks. Our children who are 4 and 7 rate this as the best holiday ever. PS4 and Pool! Pézenas is a beautiful town and we will remember it fondly.
Le propriétaire nous a chaleureusement accueillis. Sa maison avec cuisine ouverte est très agréable. La piscine est très grande et on peut vraiment nager. Pour les familles, la maison est pratique, il y a des jouets pour la piscine et des ballons. Nous avons passé une semaine agréable dans la propriété.
Lors de notre premier séjour en Dordogne, nous avons trouvé la Sainte Trinité du voyage : une propriété parfaite, des hôtes exceptionnels et un emplacement exceptionnel. Les propriétaires ont magnifiquement rénové la propriété en alliant architecture traditionnelle de Dordogne et décoration intérieure contemporaine, préservant ainsi le caractère de la propriété tout en offrant le confort moderne. Le gîte bénéficie d'un emplacement rural isolé et d'un accès facile (5 minutes à pied) aux deux restaurants, à la boutique et au bar de l'hôtel de Thonac. De même, la route principale qui traverse Thonac vous mène à travers la pittoresque vallée de la Vézère, avec Montignac et notre ville préférée, Saint-Léon, à seulement quelques minutes en voiture. Les villes médiévales de Sarlat, Beynac et Domme sont un peu plus éloignées, mais restent faciles d'accès. Grottes pour le canoë, troglodytes pour la randonnée et une multitude de restaurants et de bars sont facilement accessibles depuis Thonac. Vous pouvez vraiment passer toutes sortes de vacances depuis cette propriété. C'est magnifique !
Well, when Beverley told me she wanted to bring our children and grandchildren for a 'once in a lifetime' holiday, to celebrate our forthcoming 50th wedding anniversary in October, I must be honest I was negative and full of foreboding! But... Domaine de Nérige! Wow, what a place Bev found while I was moping around saying this won’t work. Not only was the location, 'in the middle of nowhere' absolutely perfect but the house was just beautiful with every facility we could possibly have wanted not to mention Sandie and David constantly going the extra mile if we needed advice. Thank you both for being the perfect hosts. We have not one negative word to say about this beautiful property - the rooms were comfortable, cooled where necessary with AC, the plethora of bathrooms is nothing short of extraordinary. Showers perfect and the supply of local wine and your own olive oil is truly the nicest touch. The games room, the space for kids to play on the terrace culminating in the fantastic pool was everything kids and the whole family would want. We didn’t need to leave here and, in fact, we probably did spend more time here that we would have in a 'run of the mill' villa. So finally, thank you to you both. We would love to see you both again but it would not be with such a heavy group of 'hangers on' although Bev’s decision for us to all be together this year was an inspirational one which worked perfectly. Everyone LOVED it.
Très belle maison en Périgord. La maison est sublime. Un parfait mélange entre rustique, tradition et confort moderne. Restaurée à merveille. Et 5 salles de bain pour 5 chambres, c'est rare. Immense cheminée, parfaite pour une semaine à Noël. Très bien équipée. Et Florence nous a accueilli avec gentillesse, et est très réactive aux questions et demandes.
Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour à la maison, elle se situe dans une belle région de la France. Nous avons profité de la piscine et apprécié la clim dans la maison.
We have returned again as promised and, despite the worst weather we have experienced in France in over 20 years, we had a lovely time. Even indoors there were still plenty of things to do in the sheltered area to sit and play card games, or challenge each other to a game of table tennis in the barn. A very comfortable and well-equipped house. Thank you for your kind hospitality and we hope to return again soon!
Spacious and very pleasant house, in a quiet area, close to shops and restaurants . Welcoming and responsive host. Pool clean and so refreshing in hot weather. The village is very pretty and lively in the summer. We'll be back.
This is an idyllic luxury dream. A tranquil abode where resistance against rest and relaxation is futile. Welcoming in 2022 with Kate, Frans, their family and friends felt like home away from home with immediate family. They have created a home where you can freely engage in the beauty of this corner of France in an easthetic space curated to the highest level. We could class them as more than 'friends' - and definitely as 'MTFS'. The only antidote to departing is to plot the return and this has already begun.
Emplacement charmant avec une vue magnifique dans un environnement calme et paisible. Installations fantastiques, la maison avait tout le nécessaire et plus encore, une superbe piscine, agréable et chaleureuse, bien entretenue et appréciée par toute la famille. Alan et Madeline étaient toujours disponibles pour nous aider. Nous leur souhaitons beaucoup de bonheur dans leur nouvelle vie en France.
A very beautiful setting for our first family trip to Europe! The villa and surrounds were so beautiful that nobody wanted to go anywhere… just sit and relax. A fantastic kitchen helped us feed our big group. Brent and Debbie were very welcoming and made our week very special. Thank you.
La villa a été tout ce que nous espérions et bien plus encore. L’hébergement est superbe, tout comme les équipements. Quel plaisir de pouvoir bénéficier des livraisons de petit-déjeuner (à choisir et commander). Le gâteau au citron était délicieux. Nous recommandons vivement le marché du mardi à Clairac. Notre semaine a été TRÈS CHAUDE – nous avons donc bien profité de la magnifique piscine. Nous avons aimé nous promener et faire du vélo jusqu’à Mauvezin. Les commerçants y étaient tous très sympathiques et accueillants. La villa était parfaite pour notre famille de 8 personnes. Nous la recommandons sans hésiter. Merci beaucoup Philippe, hôte et traducteur exceptionnel !
J'ai séjourné dans cette superbe villa avec mes 3 enfants (13, 12 et 10 ans). C'est une très belle maison sur une belle propriété avec beaucoup de choses à faire à moins de 30 minutes en voiture. En fin de journée après les visites diverses, la piscine et la terrasse étaient parfaites pour se reposer, apprécier la belle vue et goûter aux vins locaux. Il y a tout le necessaire pour passer un superbe séjour en famille. Je recommande vivement cette maison!
Merci beaucoup de nous avoir permis de rester. Cela a été absolument incroyable, de la dégustation de vin aux promenades avec mon mari. J'ai vraiment hâte de revenir (bientôt je l'espère)!
Nous avons vraiment apprécié la maison et les barbecues tous les soirs, nous aurions aimé rester une semaine supplémentaire.
