It is early spring. My husband and I decide to go to the South of France for a fortnight. Our eye has fallen on La Picholine. It is in the Gard region and close to nice places. Like Uzès, Nîmes, Avignon. What a surprising place on arrival. Two enthusiastic owners, proudly showing off their new domaine. There are two gîtes. A large swimming pool, several terraces and expansive views. Our gîte is very comfortable. Spacious living room with dining kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped. Bedroom is very spacious with good mattresses. Large bathroom with two sinks. As it can be quite chilly in the evening in spring, this cottage has a wood-burning stove with hot air conditioning. It is comfortably warm then. The garden is tastefully decorated. You have your own privacy and that choice is nice. We had a lovely two weeks here and will definitely come back next year. Thank you Esther and Leo for your hospitality.
So much love and thought has gone in to creating the Loft! It shows in every detail, but most importantly, in the ambiance it radiates throughout. You made us feel so very welcome, both before and after our arrival. Your kindness and generosity have meant a great deal to us, and the ‘wine time’ we had with you has been great fun too! We so admire what you have achieved with the Loft and wish you every success with the renovations of the maison de maitre - can’t wait to see the finished article. Our warmest wishes to you both and to Big Mack and Little Mabel - such gorgeous pooches!

Beautifully maintained. Very clean fabulous house and grounds. Fantastic range of play equipment for the children and we all really enjoyed the lovely pol. We have all had a fantastic holiday in this beautiful and well equipped house.
Au fil des ans, nous avons passé des vacances en famille dans de nombreuses villas françaises et La Charmante Distillerie surpasse sans conteste toutes les autres. La qualité de l'hébergement, tant sur le plan pratique qu'esthétique, est irréprochable : la climatisation fonctionne parfaitement et silencieusement, le chargeur de voiture (22 kW) était excellent (nous avions deux véhicules électriques), la qualité des équipements est irréprochable, les lits confortables et les quatre salles de bain impeccables. La décoration et les œuvres d'art sont également très agréables. À l'extérieur, le terrain est magnifique, les jardins bien entretenus et la piscine vaste et parfaitement équipée. Nous avons passé de nombreux déjeuners agréables sous le joli auvent et profité de l'excellent barbecue à plancha. Mark et Gary ont été extrêmement accueillants et généreux avec les provisions et les boissons qui nous étaient laissées. Nous n'avons rien laissé de côté ! En résumé, un merveilleux second chez-soi pour passer du temps en famille – nous étions deux chacun sur trois générations, et nous ne nous sommes jamais disputés. Je ne peux pas recommander suffisamment La Charmante Distillerie, et c'est dommage que nous n'ayons pu y rester qu'une semaine.
A huge thank you for making us feel so welcome, we've had a wonderful week in your beautiful property. This has been by far the best house we have stayed in, full of history, character and the personal touch. The pool has been amazing. Evening barbecues have been the highlight. Your kind gift of wine, beers and charcuterie set us up well for the week.
We have just returned from two weeks at La Roquette and had an amazing time. We are a group of 10, two parents, 4 adult daughters and now their partners who have been holidaying annually for 34 years now and I have to say this place is hard to beat. The setting is beautiful . Deer and hares in the fields and birds as the only sound. The house itself is so well equipped with plenty of space inside and outside to be together or to seperate and a wonderful pool which was very much needed in a heatwave of 40 degrees!! We did a wonderful vineyard tour/tasting at Domaine Bois de Devès with a lovely English wine maker, Nick Smith,and visited several recommended restaurants, the local Burger bar being a huge favourite…only 6 mins away. We will definitely return in the future when it’s cooler to explore more. Many thanks to all at Pure France, to Patricia the owner and Andrew (the pool guy) for always being on hand for questions and to help. Highly recommended!
Nous venons de passer deux merveilleuses semaines à la Maison Semoussac.
C'est la plus belle maison que nous ayons jamais louée pour des vacances. Nous étions deux familles et cela a parfaitement fonctionné pour nous. Tant d'activités à la maison, y compris les vélos, baby-foot, tennis de table, pétanque, court de tennis et une belle piscine chauffée. Il y a même encore plus de commodités que les photos ne le montrent y compris une grande piscine et une salle de jeux / TV. Le domaine est superbe et la vue de la terrasse au coucher du soleil est un spectacle à voir! Plusieurs belles villes se trouvent à moins d'une demi-heure de trajet. Mike et Natalie, qui s'occupent de la maison pour le propriétaire, habitent à quelques kilomètres de distance, toujours agréables, ils ne ménagent jamais leurs efforts, superbe maison, rien a redire! Ce fut un privilège de pouvoir séjourner ici pendant une semaine. Une pure détente. Nous avons passé des vacances très spéciales, encore une fois, Pure France nous a fait honneur.
Nous avons tous beaucoup apprécié notre séjour au Mas de Cultivateurs et le calme de la campagne environnante. Merci de nous avoir ouvert les portes de votre belle et confortable maison. Nous avons apprécié un excellent repas au Petit Coutures, sur votre recommandation. Cordialement.
Beautifully renovated, well equipped house, ideal for family / friends gathering. Three quite separate sets of 2 double/ twin bedrooms with en-suites and seating areas, so plenty of privacy. Well equipped kitchen (loads of fridge space) and separate bar / fridge/ dishwasher area. Plenty of seating and dining space both inside and out on two terraces. Kids loved the pool and outside space, playing volley ball in the garden. We enjoyed the views and quiet surroundings. My parents enjoyed the local towns and villages; and the cakes! Daily cleaning included by lovely housekeeper/ gardener who live next door. We didn't know they were there except when we needed them. The area is beautiful if you have the energy to travel, Beaune and Dijon are worth a visit and the nearby Couches with a lovely château has a delicious Patisserie / Boulangerie. We took the train from Chagny to Beaune to visit the Hospice and enjoyed a wine tasting. There are lots of vineyards to visit and taste at, we wished we'd organised some tours before we arrived as the owners can advise on this. You will not be disappointed booking this house, we have stayed in many houses in France over the last 30 years and this is undoubtedly the loveliest. We hope to return.
The house and the grounds were fantastic. The rooms were all spacious and we particularly appreciated the bedroom set up with interlinking rooms from the nursery. We really enjoyed exploring the grounds and went for walks/runs. The children loved exploring the forest area The swimming pool was fantastic. Loungers etc. comfortable. The kids loved the swings, etc + the playroom was well stocked. Everything we needed was here. Catering service was delicious and we really appreciate you taking into account the intolerances. Very friendly service, nothing was too much to ask. The owners are never on top of us but there if needed. Much appreciated. Fantastic holiday, thank you.
Notre séjour s'est très bien déroulé, comme nous nous y attendions. La maison était très bien et avait tout le confort nécessaire. Nous avons été ravis de l'aide apportée par Sarah et Dan. Ils sont très attentionnés et serviables.

Comfortable. Well equipped château. Spacious. Well tended grounds. Stunning pool area, very inviting! All really good. Comfortable sitting area. Well organised roomy playroom being a real bonus. Kitchen well equipped for cooking. Helpful at all times and unobtrusive. Huge bonus having the daily housekeeping service as well as shopping service. We have enjoyed several wonderful visits to this most delightful property set in bucolic rolling countryside. The house is elegant and extremely comfortable, giving maximal privacy inside and out so that guests can enjoy the peace, whether swimming in the lovely pool, or just relaxing in shade or sun. There is also a lovely terrace for al fresco dining and a fabulous collection of books. The creation of the gardens is masterful . We loved the nearby market in Condom and the creamy stone architecture of the area.
Beautiful setting and the grounds are marvellous. So relaxing and the pool area is perfect for long sunny afternoons. Kitchen is really well appointed. Bed linen feels fresh and your home is spotless - a big thumbs up! Playroom was a huge hit. You have a wonderful property, but your kindness and generosity of spirit went a long way in making us all feel very welcome.
Merci pour ce merveilleux séjour dans votre villa, Philippe. C'est l'endroit idéal pour fêter un 70e anniversaire ou une réunion de famille. La piscine est idéalement aménagée pour se détendre, discuter et garder un œil sur les enfants. Après une semaine passée à la piscine, notre fille a finalement réussi à nager toute seule ! Merci pour votre accueil chaleureux et convivial : le fromage de bienvenue, les viennoiseries du petit-déjeuner, le délicieux repas à La Tour de Montady, la fabuleuse dégustation de vins à Saint-Chinian – tout cela a été si mémorable et a rendu ce séjour encore plus agréable. Autres moments forts : les nombreuses balades à vélo dans les vignes, une excursion à la plage du Chichoulet, la découverte de la boucherie-pâtisserie de Cazouls-les-Béziers et la dégustation de produits locaux au bord de la piscine chaque soir.
Nous avons passé un superbe séjour. La propriété était joliment meublée et équipée et a dépassé nos attentes. Nous la recommanderions à tout le monde!
Amazing house for outside living ,lots of BBQs and rose on the terrace. Our outdoors loved the walk through the woods and we enjoyed the local markets. Highly recommend L’Effet Maison restaurant in Monflanquin – fantastic food and great wine. Look forward to a new pool side! Thanks for having us!
A beautiful property in a nice quiet location but still close to many interesting places to visit. The bedrooms were very spacious and comfortable and there was a lovely covered eating area outside. We also really loved the pool. We especially enjoyed canoeing on the Dordogne and visiting Domme and Le Jardin Marqueyssac. We also left something behind which Victoire kindly sent on to us.
Thank you so much for your hospitality and warm welcome. The property is beautiful and was the perfect place to spend our time before our wedding.
Spending time in this lovely serene hamlet is heaven, overlooking the most calming landscaped from the house and terraces. The fully equipped kitchen is outfitted for foodies and in a setting with fantastic food markets just 15 minutes in proximity. The gardens surrounding the house are beautiful and have a fabulous pool. The is French countryside brilliance at its best.
Notre immense gratitude pour avoir partagé la magie ce site fantastique et un aperçu de votre quotidien. Vous êtes les hôtes les plus charmants, prévenants et généreux. Vous nous avez fait nous sentir comme à la maison dès notre arrivée et tellement confortables et bienvenus tout le ong du séjour. Merci pour cela! Le Manoir est un pur trésor et ce fut pour nous un régal d'apprendre comment vous l'avez façonné et lui avez rendu sa splendeur. Nous nous souviendrons tout particulièrement d'avoir été gâtés avec la fantastique cuisine de Bruce (asperges à la Bruce et confit de canard chaudement recommandés!) et les délicieux desserts de Steve. À grande cuisine, grande ambiance! La semaine s'est trop vite écoulée et nous commençons donc à penser au retour, on en redemande encore! Un grand merci.

Well, when Beverley told me she wanted to bring our children and grandchildren for a 'once in a lifetime' holiday, to celebrate our forthcoming 50th wedding anniversary in October, I must be honest I was negative and full of foreboding! But... Domaine de Nérige! Wow, what a place Bev found while I was moping around saying this won’t work. Not only was the location, 'in the middle of nowhere' absolutely perfect but the house was just beautiful with every facility we could possibly have wanted not to mention Sandie and David constantly going the extra mile if we needed advice. Thank you both for being the perfect hosts. We have not one negative word to say about this beautiful property - the rooms were comfortable, cooled where necessary with AC, the plethora of bathrooms is nothing short of extraordinary. Showers perfect and the supply of local wine and your own olive oil is truly the nicest touch. The games room, the space for kids to play on the terrace culminating in the fantastic pool was everything kids and the whole family would want. We didn’t need to leave here and, in fact, we probably did spend more time here that we would have in a 'run of the mill' villa. So finally, thank you to you both. We would love to see you both again but it would not be with such a heavy group of 'hangers on' although Bev’s decision for us to all be together this year was an inspirational one which worked perfectly. Everyone LOVED it.
