Grand times with the grandkids

Maison Rousty and the pleasures of an all-generation family break...

Holiday rental villa Maison Rousty was chosen by The Times newspaper writer Anthony Peregrine for his family holiday in Provence.

The villa sleeps up to 10 people and has large grounds to explore and a private pool. All mod-cons including Wi-Fi, UK TV and air-conditioning. There are two restaurants within walking distance and the beautiful village of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is nearby.

In charge of the holiday planning, he explains why Maison Rousty was the perfect choice for their multi-generational family holiday:-

"Maison Rousty, an 18th-century stone'n'beam farmstead where the bedrooms were mainly suites, the kitchen was Michelin-star standard and the whole place was packed with light, comfort and friendly touches: wine, books, bikes and a matching set of sunhats. Plus, the garden had adventure potential.
That was vital. The sine qua non of a break like this is that the kids be happy. If they howl, so might everyone else - and under-fives don't care a hoot for monuments, history or Provence. All they want is a lawn, a ball and, as it transpired, a plastic watering can each. They need nothing further, bar food and constant attention. They don't want to go out, which is another reason to stretch for the finest property you can afford."
