Montmartre, a romantic stroll in Paris
Montmartre, follow the life of a Parisian urchin
Montmartre is a must during a stay in Paris.
Montmartre is located in the popular 18th arrondissement of Paris.
The lower part of Montmartre is lively, you will discover typical Parisian life with its modest cafés managed by friendly people, and full of regulars who come and go before or after work.
To reach the Basilique du Sacré Coeur, you can wander through the cobbled streets, or take the many staircases so typical of this neighbourhood.
222 steps lead to the top of the hill through the Square Saint Michel.
From there you have a breathtaking view over the whole of Paris. Magical moments by day and by night.
And just behind your back, the famous Basilique du Sacré Coeur.
Not far from the Place du Tertre.
La bohème, Montmartre and its artists
I’ll tell to you of a time
That those less than 20 years would not understand
Monmartre in that time hung its lilies
Right under our windows
And if the humble room that served as our nest was nothing to look at
It’s there that we came to know each other
I, crying famine, and you, posing nude
La bohème, la bohème
That meant one is happy
The bohemian, the bohemianExcerpt from La Bohème sung by Charles Aznavour
The Place du Tertre is known for its artists, painters and draughtsmen.
Several caricaturists work on the Place du Tertre and offer to sketch the passers-by.
You can also visit the museum dedicated to Dali.

You can see it from all the high points of Paris, the basilica is a masterpiece of grandeur. Built at the end of the 19th century, this white building is dedicated to the heart of Christ. A high cult for the capital, you will find the largest mosaic in France, measuring no less than 480 m².
It is accessible by funicular from Place Saint-Pierre or on foot, through the lawns and stairs of Place Louise Michel. To have a breathtaking view of all of Paris, nothing like taking a break on its forecourt or climbing its majestic dome.
A village atmosphere
If you are looking for a corner of nature, you will find many gardens and vineyards in Montmartre. Planted in 1930 north of the famous mound, they perpetuate the memory of a rural neighbourhood in the heart of the capital. The Clos Montmartre wine is tasted as well as every autumn on the occasion of the Fête des Vendanges, a warm moment to spend with friends or lovers.Il y a la Butte Montmartre qui arbore un tout autre visage que celui d'aujourd'hui et une dizaine de moulins.
Another very famous mill also illuminates the neighbourhood: the Moulin Rouge. Far from being used for agricultural purposes, it is the temple of the French Cancan and it is also a flagship place for Parisian shows.
Gourmet cuisine in Montmartre
Nothing like after a long walk than stopping on the terrace or in one of the restaurants in the neighbourhood where you can try typical French cuisine.

It allows you to snake the mound in an unusual and relaxed way. He makes a loop from Place Blanche, he embarks visitors on a 40-minute circuit to discover the must-sees.
